Our board member Dr. Ken Mask held a very appreciated Chess Lesson at E3 Camp in North Carolina. E3 stands for empowering excellence thru exploration and the camp was established in order to introduce students of color to hands-on experimental activities, art skills, and STEM field trips. The primary goal of the program is to provide opportunities for individuals to become productive citizens in the 21st century workforce. Chess is seen as an excellent tool to stimulate STEM learning. Ken also donated some chess equipment’s on our behalf so that the students can keep on playing after the camp. Big kudos to Ken and the organizer Anissa McLendon for making it happen. We are happy to support this great initiative and to introduce the children and youngsters to chess.
