After a very exciting final with many swings it was Team Von Doren with 11-year old Talia Atubet from Uganda and the FIDE vice president Joran Jansson from Norway that emerged with the victory. They were lost in the endgame against Team Bank of America with Genevieve Mashao from Kenya and Sarathi Ray a former president of the legendary Marshall Chess Club in New York but set one last trap that was successful. The 131652 viewers were provided an excellent show lead by the American Grandmasters Maurice Ashley and Jennifer Shahade. Talia won a lot of hearts all over the world plus a brand new Von Doren Nordic Light watch.
Another team that did well was Team DGT with the African Champion under 16 Elizabeth Cassidy and the CEO of DGT Hans Pees. The came all the way to the semifinals where they got knocked out by Bank of America.
Hans Pees also paid the studio a visit and had the honor to together with GM Maurice Ashley and Lishen Mentile announce the winner of our instagram campaign that we ran in partnership with DGT. The campaign brought us more than 500 new followers on Instagram and the lucky winner was smallz_ricky from Kenya who won a DGT Pegasus Chess Board.
