From June 22 to July 3, the world’s youngest chess minds came together for the World Cup for Youth, and Nathaniel Manyeki made sure his name was known.
Starting as Rank 8 in Group B of the Under 10 Open, Nathaniel battled through 7 intense rounds of Swiss-system play and secured 5th place in his group with 4.5/7 (4 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses).
He then entered the playoffs, faced Poukh Pavel, and split the match 1–1, eventually finishing 10th overall after a tough blitz tiebreak.
We’re proud of Nathaniel’s courage, composure, and rising strength. Next year he will be back stronger and more experienced.
