Chess with the Nobel Prize Winner!

GM Pontus Carlsson meet up with the Nobel Prize winner Demis Hassabis in Stockholm and they of course played a game that ended in a draw. Demis was in Sweden to receive his Nobel Prize in chemistry, but like he said himself he can always make some time for chess. The event was held at the office of the Swedish impact investor firm Trill Impact, who is the baby of another chess player the Swedish billionaire Jan Ståhlberg. Demis is an avid chessplayer and he shares our passion and conviction that chess can be an excellent tool for social change. We are happy to have such a smart and successful mind among our supporters.

Of course there was also a chess cake involved, and Demis got a chance to talk about how chess has affected his life and work plus the current status and the future of AI. It was very interesting and fun.
The highlight for Demis apart from the game with GM Pontus Carlsson was probably when GM Ferdinand Hellers went through his best game, where he beat Magnus Carlsens trainer GM Peter Heine Nielsen.
