GM Pontus Carlsson was the celebrity guest when Základní školu v Chebu wanted to inaugurate their new big outdoor chess board. The GM first cut the band, and then did a Q&A before he took on the whole school in an exhibition game. GM Pontus won the game after winning the queen but he was very impressed by the level of the children that was playing. He then finished his visit with signing a lot of autographs, doing some interviews with the media and of course accepting blitz challenges from some of the children in the schools chess club.
The GM also announced a donation of chess sets to the schools chess club so more kids can start to play chess and encouraged all students to learn English. A great move by the GM.
